CrossCode for Consoles to be released on July 9th!

The long wait is over. After countless requests we are finally ready to announce that CrossCode will soon be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. On July 9th 2020 Lea will say “Hi” to new audiences.

Each console will have its own exclusive quest with its own little dungeon and bossfight. And since we thought that our loyal PC playerbase might feel left out: You’ll get a free update with your own exclusive quest as well!
And who knows? Maybe these quests are part of something bigger…

Physical and Collector’s Editions

There is more to announce: We have partnered up with ININ Games to release physical editions of CrossCode. The game will be available for Switch and PS4 in all major retail stores in Europe and North America starting from August 28 2020.

And for those who want to throw an extra amount of money at the game, preorders of the exclusive and limited SteelBook® and Collector’s Edition are available starting today only at Strictly Limited Games.

Oh boy i can’t wait to get the collector edition and have the crosscode soundtrack FOR THE THIRD TIME

  • I didn’t expect a collector’s edition, you are the best. Gonna grab it :)

Also it will release much later (earliest october/november), but I can wait that much.

  • OOf. I went and bought the collectors edition and then read that each console has an exclusive quest? Not feeling great about that.

  • Will support Xbox play anywhere?

Just purchased the special edition for Switch. Already have the signed poster and soundtrack but just gotta get all the goodies.

All I need now is hedgehog sandwich.

  • Not going to lie, I’m not super excited about platform exclusive quests. I would have been WAY more excited about getting 4 new quests with little dungeons and bosses available on every platform.

That’s awesome! So looking forward to it.

What will be the standard version price, both physical and digital?

  • I’ve been lurking this blog for almost 2 years for this specific announcement. We finally have a release date!

I briefly had CrossCode on PC until I had to return my work laptop (only played during my time, they were cool about me having steam on it), and it made a lasting impression on me.

I could never afford to get back into into the PC market, but I do have a switch.

This news is exactly what I’ve been waiting for! I really hope the performance is as quick on console as it is on PC. Thank you for taking the time to port it over to console, from what I understand it has been an arduous process.

I hope that you have taken the time to port it right (Nothing against you, I’ve been burned before) and that I can confidently suggest it to all my gamer friends.

    Cheers!

    i want to coll”editions!
but release date decision makes me happy
    日本にも限定版出して欲しかったぜ!
    でも発売が決まって嬉しい!

  • Being a PC player is suffering, consoles get all the cool physical and collector stuff.

Can we get the Pre-Purchase command?

  • Will there be an ESRB version of the Steelbook or Collectors’ Editions?

  • INSTA-BUUUYYYYYYYYYYYY

  • What what will its price be on digital? Summer sales are going to make me plan my spendings and I’m not sure if it’ll be better to buy digital or physical

  • Not a fan of exclusive content for each console.

  • “Each console will have its own exclusive quest with its own little dungeon and bossfight.”

My attempts to only have it on PC have failed… guess I’m going to have it for Switch now too!!! I love to see CrossCode expanding.

  • Now THAT is a nice surpise! I know I already have it on PC but getting a physical Switch Edition is very tempting.

  • Aw man, consoles always get the cool physical edition stuff.
Any chance of this happening for PC?

  • Is there no physical edition for XBOX? I would definitely get the collectors’ one for XBOX.

  • Any chances for an Xbox physical copy? ININ doesn’t seem to do xbox releases. I really hope to see an xbox version on the shelves some day.

  • I’m so happy to see that you’re expanding to a larger community! More and more people will soon discover your amazing game!

As I don’t have any consoles, I won’t buy the collector edition, but as one of the NPC in the game says it’s good to have posters or merch from a game you loved after you finished it.
Will that happen outside of the Collector Edition?

  • Lea! Thanks! Thanks! Thanks! Thanks! Thanks!

  • Already have it on PC, but pre-ordering that collector. I guess I’ll give away the new code to someone else and keep the goodies for myself.

With that said, gotta agree with DRayX – not a huge fan of exclusive quests, it doesn’t particularly make me feel special and it’s certainly not going to make me buy all versions. I’d rather everyone got everything.

  • Not too often I buy a game twice but I’m a total sucker for Steelbooks. This game is worth it anyway.

  • Awesome! Will you solve the problem with the laggy main town and menus?

  • Just tried the Switch Version and i’m ver fristrated. Having played the game on OC before it’s really easy to notice in the first minutes of gameplay that the Switch version is not polished enough yet. Slow menus, constant slowdowns even on light crowded areas and many audio bugs that ruins the experience specially since the music in this game is so great.
Hopefully you guys will be able to fix those problems and let people experience this awesome game at it’s fullest capacity.
For now though, PC version is just superior and more stable :(
