Today we release CrossCode version 0.6.1 that fixes most of the bugs reported by you so far!
For instance, you’re finally not stuck in that one puzzle up there!
Also, Carla now won’t crash the game anymore, when you ask for some shopping! …That’s because we removed the shopping option.
Well, there’s still all those shops in Bergen, Ba’kii Kum and Rookie Harbor, right? Go give ’em some business!
As always, thanks to everyone for sending us the reports!
And now, onward to 0.7!

Question?
The old observatory changed and now it tells me I have to get a key, even though I got the two key pieces and opened the observatory before. Is there a new key to the observatory?
There is a new key. Some of the chest contents have been rearranged again, it’s in the one by the northern exit of Autumn’s Rise that you have to make the large two-room circuit to get to.
It still doesn’t open the observatory though. They’re reworking the internal content, I guess.
Hi Guys,
I must say here that the Maroon Valley and the Faj’ro Temple (by the way, what is ‘Faj’ro’ supposed to mean? Bakii Kum has a Shad translation, but I didn’t find one for Faj’ro) gave me overwhelming fun, and now I’m waiting for more.
On another note, I’m worried about the path the story is taking; I’m afraid it turns out to be weak. Will Lea have a very good excuse to complete the CrossWorlds game, or will the Elements and the Track of the Ancients be just lousy MacGuffins?
You guys designed a ‘game within a game’ plot, that is not novel but is VERY well executed so far, and there are two plots, right?. From here on,
!!!SPECULATION SPOILERS!!! for the weak hearted.
Plot A: Lea (perhaps Shizuka, or just connected to her, time will tell) has to get back her memory, and is potencially being manipulated by Sergey, locked up in a facility. Awesome.
Plot B, secondary: Lea is playing a game called CrossWorlds, in which she has to unveil the secrets of the Track of the Ancients, by collecting 4 elements in a very convenient fashion and owning a Final Dungeon or something, all that by winning battles and solving puzzles that scream “crack me if you dare”. No real tension, since there’s nothing to lose (Game Over equals ‘redo this little area’), therefore lame, yet tolerable, because there’s still a lot of challenge.
So, either the Plot A will be conveniently slowed down so its resolution coincides with the resolution of plot B – passable but not the best you guys can do – OR the Plot A will resolve itself before Plot B, leaving the rest of plot B to be finished just for fun – a little anticlimatic ,and I doubt this is you goal, since there has to be SOME tension in Plot B – OR Plot B will be abandoned because of events of Plot A – interesting, but I hope that’s not it because of the principle of Chekhov’s Gun – OR there will be a VERY relevant reason to finish the game (plot B) to contribute to the conclusion of Plot A (Lea/Shizuka free? Crossworlds evil whitecollars de-throned? Crossworlds shut down? Hmmmmm…)
I hope I didn’t offend anyone with my digressions about plot construction, since I’m a cinema aficionado and I’m cheering this awesome project, hoping to help it to be the best possible, by stablishing a dialog here. Thanks for listening.
P.S.: I can’t wait to see the continuation of the plot! will Lea wake up from the game and we’ll get to see where she is being kept, or will she be contained in-game, like the Source Code movie? Oh I itch to know!
Hey there,
it’s very hard to answer to this comment without spoiling the story. So I can’t tell you in what way Plot A and Plot B will evolve.
However, I can tell you that the way Plot B is currently presented will be further improved. With the current version both Plot A and Plot B essentially end with the fight against Apollo. Yes there are new areas and dungeon, but in the final game you won’t simply enter the dungeon and fight the boss to collect the key item. There will be a bit of plot connected to it that will give you insight on the lore of CrossWorlds. You will learn more about the Ancients and about the time when humankind discovered the moon.
Anyway. I’m glad to know you’re thrilled about how the story continued. You can look forward to the next version that will continue the plot quite a bit further.
Cool! I should have realized Plot B is not in its final form! Can’t wait to see the next chunk of story :D
I wasn’t asking for spoilers by the way, just speculating on what’s next.
Make sure to add a ‘like’ option to the website in the future, then I’ll be able to ‘like’ this response and the other!
Hey guys, interesting swapping of the Dungeon musics! I actually liked the original theme of Temple Mine there, although the new one is a great fit as well, but I don’t agree much with the old Temple Mine theme in Faj’ro Temple. Is it temporary? Do you intend to make a poll about the dungeon themes?
Hey there!
Yes the music of Faj’ro Temple is currently temporary. A proper Theme will be released with 0.7 (hopefully!).
