Hello everyball!
Today marks the day when CrossCode was released for PC exactly 5 years ago – and we wanted to take a short moment to celebrate the occasion!
CrossCode was an ambitious game and (in several ways) a bad idea for a first project. But despite all the odds, we made it. It took us almost 10 years in total (+consoles +DLC), but we made it!
And that is most certainly thanks to you – all of you, who gave our game a chance! You gave us feedback, when the first demos rolled out on Gamejolt and Newgrounds. You supported us during Crowdfunding and Early Access. You bought the game on the day it released for PC in 2018, or on consoles 2 years later (sorry again for the wait). And even now, 5 years later, many of you still join Lea on her journey through CrossWorlds. Many of you still send us nice words and even fanart!
It’s thanks to all of you, that our very first game was a success and that we, as a team, had a successful entry into the games industry!
We really feel incredibly lucky!
Thank you!
With that being said, here’s a collage of Leas, drawn by several team members:
Oh yeah and about Project Terra: we’re still hard at work! We got a lot of feedback from Gamescom and overall we have a good feeling about the direction the project is going – but there’s still much – too much – to do! We’ll have more stuff to show with the next update!
Until then!
Special thanks again to Yui, for the amazing drawing at the start of the post!

happy birthday crosscode!!!
Congratulations to everyone on this significant event
Hi! Lea! Thanks! =)
CrossCodes is on a very short list of my favorite games. You guys nailed it. The amount of quality content and heart and soul… chef’s kiss.
Finally finished your game. GJ.
Today I released my first game.
Quia says hi.
Darn, I can’t believe its five years now. I remember being on a business trip in U.S., I took my personal laptop to play immediately after it was launched. Great memories.
Congrats and happy birthday!!
Crosscode is seriously the best game I’ve played in recent times, dare I say the most enjoyable game in my steam library, rarely does a game make me sit for more than 6 hours straight just because its so much fun. Thank you guys and truly hope Project Terra can be as good if not better!
You guys are kings and queens. Take your time with Terra, don’t overstress, make the process fun. We’ll be waiting for you, one or three years, however long it takes. CrossCode was amazing and Terra will be, too. Looking forward to more updates, even if something minor like “this month we solved this bug that was ‘bugging’ us,” or anything having to do with the creative process (good, bad, ugly). We’re interested in all that geeky stuff.
Anyway, talk to you soon,
-All of your true fans
CrossCode is easily the best game I’ve played in the past 20 years. The gameplay, characters, story, graphics, soundtrack; it’s all perfect. I don’t think anything will ever dethrone Chrono Trigger as my #1 game of all time, but in the same vein, I don’t think anything will ever dethrone CrossCode as my #2.
I’d never heard of this game until I came across it looking for something to play during the pandemic. This easily vaulted into my list of favorite games! Thank you for this gem of a game that is just as exciting to go back and play again and again.
Happy birthday! I simply love your game and am very excited for the Project Terra. I enjoy your lives and I’m learning a lot from them.
Btw, if you need people to help you with playtest it, feel free to contact me.
